About Us
The Massachusetts Administrators for Special Education (ASE) is the leading statewide non-profit association in Massachusetts dedicated to advocating, supporting and educating on all matters pertaining to special education administrators. Our mission is to empower those responsible for supporting students with disabilities across the continuum of services and programs ensuring that school districts fulfill their mandate to provide a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) to Massachusetts students with disabilities. ASE provides a supportive space for administrators to collaborate and learn from each other in a collegial setting.
ASE is committed to amplifying the VOICE of Massachusetts Special Education Administrators.
To achieve this statewide special education administrative advocacy, ASE:
Advises, informs and advocates with state and federal leaders
Collaborates with other stakeholders and agencies
Engages in coalition-building activities
Testifies at state legislative forums
Works with state child serving agencies
Aligns with the National Council of Special Education Administrators (CASE) on federal special education matters
Provides statewide conferences (in-person and virtual) with state and national legal and special education experts
Provides solutions, remedies and recommendations to complex state special education issues to state leaders and legislators
ASE values all professional activities that support ASE’s commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion and respectful dialogue to enhance statewide special education administration. We value the importance and need for provisions that promote special education leadership with a goal towards supporting special education administrators and special education school teams. We pledge to serve our members by rigorous action to advance special education policy, learning, and advocacy.
